Name: Argentine Black and White Tegu

Lifespan: 15-20 years

Class: Intermediate-Hard Diet:

-As babies: Insects, fruit, and eggs daily (small amounts if feeding all 3 at once)

-As adults: Insects, fruit, and eggs every 3 days (smaller amounts if feeding all 3) Heating: None Lighting: Basking area and UVB

Tank:

-As babies: 40 Gallon

-As adults: Should be double the length of tegu

Substrate: Newspaper or Bioactive

Mental stimulation: Hide

Water: Water dish big enough for tegu to soak in

Humidity: Soak to help stuck shed and dig box

Sexing: If there are bumps at the sides of the vent you have a male.

Training: Can be trained in a lot of ways

Pros:

-Act like old dogs so they love you

-Hardy

-Nicer than most lizards

-Are kind of impressive to have

-Love cuddles

-Can be newspaper trained

Cons:

-Larger lizard

-Can drop tails

-Food can sometimes be expensive

Breeding:

-10-73 eggs in each clutch

-58-60 day incubation period

-Are able to breed around 3 years

-Baby tegus can be kept in a 44qt
